The Centre for the History of Renaissance Knowledge, a unit of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, announces recruitment for doctoral positions in Early Modern European intellectual history for the next academic year 2022/2023.
We invite you to apply to the Graduate School for Social Research (GSSR) and pursue a Ph.D. degree in Philosophy under the supervision of one of our Senior Scholars – Professor Danilo Facca or Professor Valentina Lepri. Our Centre focuses on the history of knowledge with a special emphasis on the various forms of knowledge creation and organization in the Renaissance period. The research area of successful applicants will cover one of the following:
– History of philosophy in Early Modern age;
– History and ideas and history of culture;
– History of science;
– History of education and academic institutions.
The doctoral program will run for 4 years, starting on October 3, 2021.
