Every year the students from all over the world are greatly invited to apply for the doctoral studies at the Graduate School for Social Research (GSSR). Placed at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and working under the collaboration with Institutes of Psychology and of Political Studies of PAS, GSSR offers scope for interdisciplinary approaches to research backed by rigorous methodological training. The highest academic standards and the individual attention of the faculty members of the School ensures an extremely strong academic background and an excellent start to the careers of future researchers.

Future PhD students will be strongly involved in the life and the mission of our Centre as well as the KnowStudents project. During the four year programme of studies they will gain a comprehensive education in Early Modern intellectual history with a special emphasis on the various forms of knowledge creation and organization in that age. Furthermore, through close collaboration with the team members, tailored study agenda and participation in additional activities (workshops, summer schools, but also interactions with the public) they will acquire a vast range of skills and develop into fully independent scholars.
